Every staff member I have encountered has been very welcoming and easy to talk with! They are all passionate about helping patients in a well-rounded way. I also love the story of how Clinica was founded and has much it has grown!
Briefly describe your philosophy of care.
My philosophy of care is patient-centered. It is important that we get to know our patients and their lifestyles when deciding what the best course of treatment for them is. I also strongly believe that mental health is very related to physical care, so it is important to take care of both.

Briefly describe your philosophy of care.
I believe every patient's story is important, and my role in each patient's health journey is to listen and understand how their unique story informs their health goals and values. With this understanding, I aim to work with my team to provide a holistic approach to health and well-being across the lifespan.
Philosophy of Care: I believe in taking a whole person approach to medicine, integrating physical, social and mental health needs of each patient into his/her/their care. Using evidence based medicine, meaning the conscientious use of clinical evidence behind a test or treatment as well as an patient's goals, to decide on what our treatment plan will be is very important to me. Everyone, regardless of gender, race, income or sexuality deserves high quality healthcare and a listening ear.
Why I Choose to Work at Clinica: As a family physician, we have the unique opportunity to care for entire families throughout their lives both in the outpatient and inpatient setting. At Clinica, I am able to work in both of these care environments and fulfill my mission of providing healthcare for whomever needs it. Outside Clinica: I love spending time with my husband, daughter and extended family and friends, sharing a meal I've cooked or exploring new spots in Denver. I'm a huge college (Go Irish!) and professional football fan. I enjoy being active, whether that is on a family bike ride, walking around our neighborhood, chasing our daughter around the house, skiing, yoga or going to the gym.

What attracted you to Clinica?
What attracted me to Clinica is that everyone is welcome here and all patients are treated with equity. Being able to work with a care team that includes different health professionals is something very valuable that can enhance patient care and I appreciate that. I also enjoy being able to provide culturally appropriate care to patients coming from diverse populations.
Briefly describe your philosophy of care.
My main goal as a nutrition professional is to teach people that eating healthy doesn't have to be hard, boring and/or expensive. A healthy lifestyle can become something part of our daily lives which could help prevent chronic conditions and improve the quality of our lives.
I also want people to learn that even if already living with a chronic condition, is possible to improve life quality through diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Why I Choose to Work at Clinica: Since I am also an immigrant and refugee, I want to serve anyone in the community who seeks out dental care, regardless of who they are or their background. As a result, it is important to me that I use the opportunity given to me to pursue my dreams in the United States in order to help others in the community who want to pursue their own dreams.

I received my nurse practitioner degree in 2004 and have practiced in both Florida and Colorado. As a medical provider, it’s important to me that my patients know they can trust me with all of their care. I want to partner with my patients so that we can work together towards their good health.
Philosophy of Care: I strive to welcome all people of all backgrounds into the clinic and into healthcare. I want everyone to feel comfortable, heard, and cared for. I decided to become a doctor when I was 17 years old as a way to take care of the underserved. I believe it is important to treat the patient, rather than the illness. Patients are whole beings who are more than their diagnoses. Too often I hear stories from parents about how they had a bad experience at the dentist when they were little and now they struggle with dental care. I became a pediatric dentist to break this cycle and to show the next generations that dentistry is a necessary part of our overall health and can even be fun!

Outside Clinica: During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. As a mother of two boys, I am being schooled in the world of Minecraft and Fortnite. I loved the idea of being a part of an integrated care team that cares for the whole patient. Diabetes care is my passion and Clinica not only supported that but helped me to earn my Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) credential. I see a variety of nutrition related health conditions and working in our population allows me to utilize my full skill set as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

My background in community organizing within on the Northwest side of Denver pushed me to pursue a master's degree in social work where I focused on community mental health in the Latinx community. Post grad I directed a mental health clinic in Ecuador for three years where I conducted trainings and therapy in Spanish. I was drawn to work at Clinica because of its history and mission. I couldn't be prouder to work at an organization founded by a Latina supporting healthcare for farmworkers and advocating for high quality and affordable healthcare for all.
Briefly describe your philosophy of care.
As a social worker I aim to continually practice cultural humility and engage in community informed practices, support integrated behavioral healthcare and center my practice in social justice. I primarily utilize Solution Focused and Narrative Therapy and enjoy working with community members of all ages, sexual orientations and gender identities.
The location, having clinics in the mountains was important to me as a local.
My goal in medicine is to meet the patient where they are and to find ways to work with patients to collaborate on the path to their best health.

The core of my care philosophy is shared decision making. I want to empower my patients to take an active role in their own health management. I also believe that a healthy life looks different for everyone and I love helping my patients find what healthy looks like for them.

I learned of Clinica as a student rotating through the clinic during my second year of PA school. I absolutely loved the team based care model and believed our patients benefited from this multi-disaplinary approach. I also spent time during my third year of PA school and applied for an opening upon graduation. 15 years later, I'm beyond proud to work here!

We proudly partner with the federal Health Resources and Services Administration, which provides us annually $8,400,000 or approximately 14% of Clinica’s operating budget.
